Overview

Situated in the southernmost part of China, Hainan province enjoys a tropical monsoon climate with year-round warm weather, rich biodiversity, and diverse coastal ecosystems. It features a mountainous center and flat coastal areas. Home to 10.48 million people, Hainan is inhabited by multiple ethnic groups, including the Li, Han, Miao, and Hui, with ethnic communities mainly living in central and southern areas.
